SECURITY OFFICER DUTIES
Access Control
- Monitor and control entry and exit points.
- Verify identification of staff, visitors, and contractors.
- Issue visitor passes and maintain access logs.
2. Patrolling
- Conduct regular foot or vehicle patrols around the premises.
- Check for signs of intrusion, damage, or suspicious activity.
- Ensure all doors, windows, and gates are secure.
3. Surveillance Monitoring
- Monitor CCTV cameras and alarm systems.
- Respond quickly to unusual or suspicious movements.
- Report equipment faults immediately.
4. Incident Response
- Respond to emergencies such as fire, medical incidents, theft, or alarms.
- Take appropriate action and follow established procedures.
- Call emergency services when needed.
5. Reporting
- Write incident reports and maintain accurate security records.
- Report hazards, maintenance issues, or safety concerns.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
6. Customer Service
- Assist visitors with directions and general enquiries.
- Maintain a polite, professional presence at all times.
- Provide reassurance and promote a safe environment.
7. Health & Safety
- Ensure fire exits are clear and safety equipment is functional.
- Support evacuation procedures during drills or emergencies.
- Identify and report safety hazards.
8. Protection of Assets
- Safeguard company property, equipment, and confidential information.
- Prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.
